A plain-language draft. It will be reviewed by a lawyer before the map is public.

In short

What happens when you take the map

The page brings the statements and the descriptions with it. Your answers are worked out on your own device, in the page’s memory, and your result is shown there. The page does not send your answers or your result anywhere. The only thing it can send is your comments, and only after you tick the consent box and press “Send comments”.

What the website itself sees

In this beta the site is hosted by Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps. The web app that delivers the pages is in a Microsoft data centre in the United States, and the pages are served through Microsoft’s global network. As with every website, delivering a page means Microsoft’s servers technically handle your IP address and basic details of the request, such as your browser and the time. We do not use this to identify you. We have not turned on any logs, analytics or monitoring of our own, and we add no advertising. Microsoft handles this data on our behalf under its data protection terms. Microsoft’s parent company is based in the US, and this data is processed outside the EU; the transfer is covered by the EU standard contractual clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, to which Microsoft is certified (Microsoft Data Protection Addendum, aka.ms/DPA). Your comments do not go through this web app: see “Comments in the beta”.

Everything the page uses comes from our own site. No fonts, scripts or images are loaded from other companies.

Comments in the beta

This beta has optional comment fields: under each statement and after the map. Writing a comment does not send it. Your comments stay in the page’s memory until the end, where you see all of them, can remove any of them, and decide whether to send them.

If you send them:

What we do not do

How your answers become a map is explained on How the map works.

Any change to this page will carry a new date.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights over personal data about you, such as access and deletion. Because we keep no answers, there is usually nothing to look up or delete. If you have a question, write to us at the address below. You can also complain to the Bulgarian data protection authority (Commission for Personal Data Protection) or to the authority in your country.

In this beta you also have the right to withdraw your consent for the comments at any time: write to contact@aranilove.com, tell us the statement and what the comment says, and we will delete it. Withdrawal applies from the moment we receive your request; it does not affect what was done with the comment before that.
