Need help now?

If you are going through a hard time, you do not have to face it alone. Talking can help: with someone you trust, a doctor, or one of the support lines below, by phone or by text. If you are having thoughts of suicide, please reach out to a support line today. If you or someone else is in danger right now, call your local emergency number. Help is available, and feelings that seem unbearable can change.

If you are worried about someone

Ask how they are, and listen without rushing to fix things. It is okay to ask directly whether they are thinking about suicide; asking does not put the idea in their head. If they are in danger, call the emergency number with them or for them.

After an intense experience

Sometimes meditation, prayer, a retreat or another strong experience can leave a person shaken: unable to sleep, frightened, or feeling that things are not real. If that happens, slow down. Pause intense practice, sleep, eat, and spend time outdoors and with people you trust. If it does not settle within a few days, or if you cannot sleep, talk to a doctor.

What Arani can and cannot do

Arani is a tool for self-knowledge, not a crisis or health service. We never see your answers, so we cannot notice if you are struggling. Please reach out to one of the people or lines on this page.

The lines below are run by independent organisations, not by Arani. Each entry shows what the organisation says about its own service.
